New York City’s rental market is chaotic, fast-moving, and overwhelming—but I’m here to make it easy, stress-free, and even fun!
I created ValPals Rent because I’ve been exactly where you are. I moved to NYC from Indiana on one week’s notice, with no one available to check out apartments for me, and ended up blindly renting in Tribeca end of 2019. My mom cried, "Is it safe on that street? Is the apartment legitimate? When are you coming back!" Since then, I’ve lived in 7 apartments across 6 neighborhoods (West Village, Tribeca, SoHo, Battery Park, Financial District, Hudson Yards) and worked in NYC construction for 6 years after earning my civil engineering degree. I’ve built apartments in this city—I know how they’re made, how landlords operate, and most importantly, how to navigate this rental madness.
So why choose me? Because I get it. I know how hard it is to find a safe, well-located apartment that fits your needs—especially when you’re busy working during the day (this city's favorite time to schedule open houses), out of town, or just unsure where to start. That’s where I come in.
